A fun and natural fruit acid to add to hard candy, caramel, beverages, icecreams and to create sherbets. Citric acid will enhance the taste of all LorAnn fruit flavors.

Sherbet is an old-fashioned favourite sweet for children. Make it at home using our Citric Acid combined with simple ingredients like jelly crystals, baking powder and icing sugar. Delicious and so easy that your kids can make it with you.

Citric acid can be added to ice cream as an emulsifying agent to keep fats from separating, to caramel to prevent the sugars crystallising, or in recipes in place of fresh lemon juice.

Team citric acid with bicarb soda to create effervescent effects for food (sherbert) and beauty products (bath bombs), but also a grease cutting cleanser.  

The powdered acid can be used as an alternative to vinegar or lemon juice, where a pure acid is needed but additional liquids are not.

Citric acid can be used in food colouring to balance the pH level of a normally basic dye.


Recommended usage is 1/8 teaspoon per 2 cups of sugar. For hard candy and other cooked candies, add once hot syrup has cooled to below 265º F.

Make a sweet & sour / sherbert coating for finished hard candy and lollipops:  Combine 1 teaspoon citric acid with 1 cup icing sugar and mix well.  Add more citric acid as desired for a tarter flavor.
